The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has officially

established in Bonn on 26 January 2009.

Up-to-date, 81 States have signed the Statute of the Agency, amongst them

29 African, 27 European, 17 Asian and 8 Latin-American countries.

Mandated by these governments, IRENA aspires to become

the main driving force for promoting sustainable use of renewable energy worldwide.
