In September, 2008, donor countries have pledged $6.1 billion to finance

two Climate Investment Funds (CIF), Clean Technology Fund and

Strategic Climate Fund. The funds will be disbursed as grants, highly

concessional loans and/or risk mitigation instruments. At the

current moment, on March 31, 2010, the total amount pledged by

13  donor countries to the CIF Trust Funds (CTF and SCF) is over 6.1 billion.
