The DESERTEC Concept describes the perspective to supply the electricity for Europe, the Middle East and North
Africa (MENA) up to year 2050. It shows that transition to
competitive supply is possible using renewable energy sources and efficiency gains, with fossil fuels as backup for
balancing power.
